Ford House
Ford House, situated on the Main Street of Kapunda, is amongst one of the oldest buildings in the small country town 77 km's north of Adelaide, in South Australia
On the 17th of November, Overland Paranormal and Eidolon Paranormal were kindly allowed access to investigate the building by the owners.
For many years now the occupants have come to interact with the spirits inside the building, a young lady named Mary, who is thought to have died in an accident with a dumbwaiter, crushing her early twenty-something body in the lower dining room (If the dumb-waiter existed - it is long gone now), and a pair of young children who play at the top of the ornate wooden staircase that leads to the upstairs bedrooms of this beautiful and well kept Bed and Breakfast, in what is considered, one of the most haunted towns in Australia.
Ford house has been many things over the years, but it was thought to be one of the first General Stores in Kapunda, if not the very first, since its first inception as a single story building in the 1840's, it has since been rebuilt into the two story mansion like building we see in Kapunda's main street today.
Over the past One hundred and Fifty years it has been many things, a plumbers shop, a General Store, a Barber, an Egg-wholesaler, a private residence, there is even whispers of it once being a very profitable "House of Ill-repute" (A "knock-Shop", or Whorehouse).
In 1880 it was purchased by W Mugg and used a boot and shoe wholesaler.

Investigation
Like many investigations, this time we didn't get a single thing, no EVPs, no photos and even Overland Paranormals SB-& Spirit box got no voices, it was totally an utterly devoid of paranormal activity in the House on the night in question - or maybe the spirits were just hiding in another room away from us? who knows, but in any case, on this investigation, we recorded nothing out of the ordinary in way, shape or form.

Further Investigations.
Whilst hosting and leading the Kapunda Ghost Crime Tour in 2014/15, Allen and Karen got to know the buiding very well, as it was the halfway stop of the tours at the time. What we discovered through our ongoing research is that the (then) owner had a lot of wrong information about the buildings past.
Her assumptions were based on the wrong "Ford" family in Kapunda. The two girls that she attributed so much of the buildings hauntings too, never actually lived in the house, and both passed away in Broken Hill well after the entire family had moved there.
There is also absolutely no record in the Kapunda archives of a young lady being crushed by a dumbwaiter. However, the building, up until the 1980's was actually two seperate residences rented out by local Kapunda identity. The northern end of the house, which is now a coffee lounge, was used as a rental property for many years, while the southern end was mainly one occupier.
During tours we encountered at least three people, on seperate tours, who had at some point in their past lived in the rental property, all three considered the building haunted and shared similar experiences of seeing a female spirit inside the building.

It was whilst working wth another team on an investigation at Ford House, GCT Paranormal Investigators, that we managed to debunk the haunting of room 4 as an anomoly caused by a large double brass bed. However, we did experience a number of unusual readings and static interfernece in one of the front bedrooms that, to this day, we have no explanation.

Other Ford House trivia: during the Kapunda riot of 1893, a gentleman was almost kicked to death in the front room of the building, and someone else tried to burn it down!
